Thanks Jim, but mostly parts I want to keep as spares. Some I need now like rear seat belts and washer pump and master cyl.
But the tail lights and fuel filler caps are good accident insurance. Getting hard to find. If you are after something in particular PM me, there are a few around yards here(or were a while back). Or I may have something tucked away you are after.

Sorry Stigram, back to your great looking shiny beast.

A great way to clean chrome is to use crunched up tin/ kitchen/ baco foil with some coca cola.

I started using chrome polish but it was very time consuming. Everyone that's seen the car has commented on how clean the wheels are.

Working on the interior.

I'm afraid to look underneath these covers.

I can understand that, given the outward appearance of the exterior. But you *May* be pleasantly surprised! Or not.

To this point, your car is an Amazing transformation! Almost metamorphosis!

Go for it, remove those covers! I have a feeling that old lady was well cared for once and is hiding nice doeskin hide under those covers. What a fantastic transformation a real survivor. Well done for saving her.

Unfortunately I haven't had a lot of time to do work on the interior but I did look underneath the driver side seat cover and it wasn't great. It seems as if the seats had been neglected a long time before it was parked. For now I'm going to keep them covered but I may have a lead on a used interior. The door cards also need a bit of work. I'll try and get some pictures up later today.

Out in its natural habitat.

Looking for a sneaky power steering leak.

For some reason the rear doors don't want to open so I'm on the hunt to figure out why.

Bleh!

Needs some attention.

Decided to take the seat out to access the right side door card and vacuum a little.

Thanks. It still needs a bit of work (to be honest it really needs a full restoration) but I've been lucky in that it didn't need any major mechanical work.

Decided to pull the seats out to possibly have them covered but I'm not sure.

What have you found under your seats? I found $.26 and a bunch of screws.

Found a reproduction emblem on eBay and couldn't be happier. Looks identical to the original.

One of the reasons I took the rear seat out was to get access to the right side rear door card. The door was stuck closed and the only way to access the panel was from the inside .

After a lot of years sitting, the mechanism to manually unlock the doors was frozen. I put a little penetrating fluid on it in manually moved the mechanism around.

The rod inside the door connects to the lock unlock mechanism and the shorter rock next to the handle itself. By manually moving the inner rod for the locking mechanism and forward and pulling the handle you can open the door.

After about 15 years of being closed it actually popped open.

What it looked like from the outside.

Turns out the inner handle was also damaged so pressure applied to the unlock mechanism wasn't being transferred to the lock itself.

Finally stopped that pesky leak. The ring around the filter had perished.

It actually stopped raining for a while.

There's something about an Xj6 that just sort of Gets you, doesn't it; Right There!
A more beautiful, well-portioned car has never yet been conceived by mankind.

Yours is all the more so as we've seen what it was 'Before.' 'After' is *stunning!*
Congratulations on conquering that leak.

If everyone would realize that the Jaguar XJ6 is a great car I would not have been able to afford one. The very smooth steering, the sharp cornering thanks to the low centre of gravity, the suspension that filters out most bumps, the seats are better than anything I ever had in any car, the engine is powerful and then... there is the looks. I could write a book and dedicate a chapter to each beautiful line in the bodywork of my Jaguar XJ6, but I won't. That would cost too much time I'd need to fix my car every other week.

Your car is coming along great. At first the car looked to be covered in green sandpaper, now it's like a mirror. It's driving and running pretty good. Wish you the best of luck with your pretty car. Green is not a very popular color, mine is brown and I disliked it at first but it grows on you. I personally think most colors look good on a XJ6.

I feel akin to the models of the 53 Chevrolet custom and the monster truck on the shelf!!!

I've three on my buffet.
1. Great American race emblazoned 31 Model A ford roadster.
2. Near stock black 49 Mercury Club Coupe.
3. Chopped 49 Mercury Club coupe.

In 1952, I got a slick black 49 Mercury club coupe. Many
mis adventures with it. but, definitely cool!!

I told my son yesterday that the jaguar is so smooth i would drive around the block just for fun.

The strange thing to me is that green seems to suit jaguars.

Ever wish you hadn't seen something?

At least I know why the gauge isn't working.
