Have you checked the tappet clearances ? You mentioned the car stood for 5 years. You could have a bent inlet valve due to it being lazy coming back off the cam due to lack of oil on the guide. I had this happen to me after my car had stood for several years. It's a head-off job unfortunately. However this would affect the running of the car, but you don't say anything about this.
