Hi Folks,

I need a new cold start valve for my '85 XJ6 (The old one was checked by a pro and found to be clogged beyond even ultrasonic cleaning).

The few genuine Jaguar ones I've found are $160 or more.

But I looked around and saw this:

New Bosch 1974 Volvo 142 144 145 Fuel Injection Cold Start Valve 0 280 170 100 | eBay

It looks identical to me, for $50.

Has anyone ever tried this, or found any other one that would swap in?

I'm mainly worried that it wouldn't physically fit, or that the voltage would be different. If the flow rate is different, well it's still probably better than what I have now.

the listing says it is not compatible, so you might throw away $50. if it doesn't fit or work.

why not try a good used one from David Boger / Everyday XJ ? He has one for $45.00 and knowing David, if it doesn't work he'll send you another one.
