87 XJ6 VDP Seat Belt Alarm
I'm having an issue with my 87 XJ6 VDP's seat belt alarm. I've noticed the belt warning light staying on when it shouldn't. With the key in the ignition the alarm sounds as it should until the seat belt is latched. It will sometimes even alarm with nobody seated in the seat, car of, and key out of the ignition.
I noticed my interior lights were not always turning on when I opened the driver's door, so I pulled the switch and gave it a good dose of contact cleaner and it seems to work every time now. The interior lights com on when they should, but the seat belt alarm buzzer is still giving me the same issue.
At this point my "fix" has been to pull the fuse for that circuit. Is there a better way to address this problem?

I don't know the fix but you might try....
Remove the purple/white wire from the ignition lock cylinder and see if anything changes. Maybe try to get some cleaner into that area of the lock cylinder? or just leave it disconnected?
Remove the wire from the seat belt buckle and/or try to clean switch inside the buckle with a good dousing of aersol
Remove the logic unit and stow it in the glove box. It's in the left component panel under the dash. It the one that has a little speaker-grille type of thing in the case.
Cheers

Figures I just had all that apart when I changed the AC blower last week. I picked this one up sight unseen and the dealer said this was an issue, but they fixed it.
I'm guessing the belt switch is ok since it turns off the buzzer when the belt is plugged in. I think I have an extra logic module I might try that next. I picked up a grab bag of electronic bits, relays and switches when I found the blower.
My gut feel is that it's the wire in the ignition.
