'88 XJS heater valve removal???
I understand that after '87 the heater valve was moved from the firewall/engine side, to behind the dash inside. I've searched for a procedure for this with no luck. Anyone been at one of these? I'd like to pull the heater assy and "hotrod" the complexity out of it, probably moving a new valve back to the engine bay. Originality not an issue, 305 conversion.
Thanks,
Seann

I suspect you are in the "wrong" forum? This is the "Saloon" forum S1,II & III.
There are similarities, to be sure.
In your car, track the heater hoses. They should lead you to the valve...

While there could be some late model year production differences I can tell you I have a '88 5.3 and the heater valve is most certainly on the firewall. It's in almost the same place as the XJ6, in the center offset towards the RH side.
Upgrade to a VA Electronic Heater Servo... replaces the stock vacuum operated water valve with one with a small motor... works fine with GM engines or Jags.
