Yes, Thanks Doug. I appreciate your response. I am trying to decide if its worth putting in an engine or just letting her go. I am not mechanically inclined at all and would have to have someone do the job for me. So I guess it's a question of how much it would cost vs selling her. Thanks again...

Tough decision.
I'm *guessing* $1000 for a known good V12 engine, $1500 labor to make the swap, and $500 miscellaneous = $3000 to drive away with a used engine.
An XJS with a dead engine is worth, what, $1500 as a parts car, if that much?
An extra-clean '92 XJS has a market value of, what? $6000? More if a convertible, less if only "average" condition.
FWIW and IMHO, if the car is extra nice, doesn't need a slew of other repairs, and you really like it, spending $3000 or so doesn't seem too hateful at all.
If none of the above apply, move on and don't look back. It would make a good project for someone else.
