Aircon switches
My 81 series 3 has two little toggle switches hidden out of sight near the drivers mirror adjust. The previous owner knew they were for aircon but not sure of their function. Can anyone advise common mods to the aircon that these switches could be for
one of the mods is to allow fresh air to come in the cabin without the a/c compressor being ON, so maybe one of the switches turns the compressor OFF.
in the Series 3 XJ, the compressor comes ON even while in HEAT Mode, to dehumidify the air. And when you place the Mode Switch in AUTO, the compressor is continually being turned ON and OFF,
so maybe the previous owner did not want the compressor to run at all.

Jose's idea is most probable.
But, does the automatic temp control work? Some guys have replaced the auto control system with toggle switches.....which are used to power up and change direction of the servo motor to give heating or cooling.

The climate control seems to work thou the change in temp is not dramatic. When I activate one of the switches the air volume increases so this may be adding ram air to the fan air
Got to the bottom of the switches. One is to turn compressor on and off and the other is to switch between recirculate air or outside air. Thank you all for your help
