Anyone running an edelbrock performer on their lump??
I have one in my boat, had it out and ran great for about an hour, then started running really poorly, no power, and very strong gas smell.. tore it apart again (rebuilt it a year ago but it sat) and found what my best guess is separated fuel that turned to jelly Inside.. see pic, anyhoo.. cleaned it all up, checked filter and water separator, both were clean.. anyways.. whilst taking carb apart I stripped the ledges off of one of the main jets ( the slot for the screwdriver) and now I cannot get it out for the life of me.... anyone had any luck with an easy out or something along those lines.. jet is brass and carb is aluminium, so drilling is out!!!
any help at all greatly appreciated.. as I know it's not jag related, but the motor is a Chevy..

A bit late, but, I do have comments.
1. I am not familiar with what that jet looks like. But, although many of us ignore it, a proper "jet driver' does exist. An otter tube with a blade within. The tube slips over the jet shoulder and keeps the blade in the slot as torque is applied.
2. I am confused as to the manifold topic name and the malady which seems a car issue???
3. Seems to me that drilling and extracting brass oughta be easier than steel. I must be missing something!!

I've never used Edelbrock anything before, but I assume the jet to be the same as a Rochester or Holley. Like Carl said, there is a tool for that, hopefully it's not too late.
Back in my former racing life, I used to tap the Rochester 2BBL carbs for Holley, as there was a full kit of different jets making it much easier to fine tune.

I am worried about drilling as both are soft metals and i won't know if I have hit the aluminum, jet is in an odd spot also.
yes it is too late for the original tool.

I sure don't want to cast a spell on you. But, in my experience, EZY outs are any thing but !!!
the things are hard aka brittle. and but in the hole. Worse mess than before.
I like ……...throttle's left twist bit.
My stuff includes a section of various sized splined shafts with a square on top for a drive. Tap it in the splines get a bite and the square a means of applying torque.
Saved me a few times !!!
