Default Brake Cylinder Removal?

Has anyone every removed the entire brake cylinder from a 1987 XJ6? I would like to remove the entire unit, including the pedal if possible. Looking at the top of the cylinder from the engine compartment I do not see enough bolts (only one on the fire wall that I can see). Is it attached from the interior under the dash? Any hints I should know before I dig into the interior trim?

I have figured out the process for anyone else who ever needs to attempt this. It is NOT easy. The only way to gain access to the Brake Master is through the bottom of the dash in the interior. All panels must be pulled which I did yesterday. Once the bolts on the underside of the fire wall are removed, and the single one in the engine compartment, the entire cylinder with pedal and all may be removed through the engine compartment.

Just to clarify, the *master cylinder* itself is easily removed from topside in the engine bay.

But, yes, the brake booster and/or pedal box is a big job from inside the cabin

Cheers

Yes, DD, you are correct. I am removing the entire Brake assembly, MC, Booster, pedal and the whole works.
