Default Brightwork.

G,day all.

B-i-L is putting his XJ12 in for paint remedial work. The paintshop is saying that they may damage some of the chrome in the removal. Before we start is there a supplier of new (s/hand) chrome bits we could call if some bits do get damaged?

Thanks.

Better to take as much of the chrome bits off before it goes in. Of course, some of the bits support road legal stuff like rear lights and number plate light plinth, so these have to be left on.

Thanks Fraser.

What the coachworks is saying is that they're concerned some of the more delicate bits may be damaged by removal. I'm asking if there's a source for replacement of said bits in the event of that occuring?

There is a lot of stuff around if you are prepared to trawl through the internet and also magazines like the Jaguar Enthusiast Club magazine, and also at their big autojumble some time in Feb or March. Jaguar Drivers Club may also be a useful source

Check with http://www.sngbarratt.com/ it seems they have an extensive selection listed in their catalog. And they are located in the UK if that helps. They also have a branch in the US.

Thanks all. Went to the NEC on friday and onto the Drivers Club stand. Someone on there recommended BlackCountry Jaguars for spares. Yes/No?

I also made a mistake in my original posting. B-i-L tells me his car is an XJS V12 Coupé and not an XJ12

Typical Merc owner getting things wrong. Takes cover...

Derek.

No worries, you might want to post on the XJS section just to be thorough. There is another place in England a lot of people use: http://www.jagspares.co.uk/Manners/company.asp
