I am finally going to connect the a/c in my 1969 XJ Lump (after 25 years). Moving from CA to San Antonio, TX made that decision pretty easy! Engine, a/c pump, condenser and drier are all 1987 Corvette. What lines do I use for the lines from the evaporator (under dash)? Are they half Jag and half GM? Does anyone know of a place that makes them? Thanks for any help you can provide.
I've found small shops that have the old style equipment to custom make A/C hoses. Lots of shops used to make custom hoses but, like many other skills that has pretty much fallen by the wayside.
Just buy a crimper and make you own. Ample supply of crimp fittings on ebay. It wil payfor itself the first time you have to make lines. Shipping back and forth or driving around trying to find someone local is a waste of time and money. Most of the lines on the XJ are #6 and # 10. I'd also suggest a compressor adapter so you can run standard oring fittings. Trying to cut off GM fitting and repuprose them is a but time consuming and difficult unless you also can weld.
