Default Coolant hose kit of choice?

As part of the head work I am doing, it is a good time to replace the 20 year only coolant hoses on my 87 SIII XJ6. There is a Uro hose kit out there that seems to be very cheap but I'm not sure about the quality.

Other than OE, I wonder if there is a top quality kit out there. Perhaps someone even makes a silicon hose kit these days?

The URO stuff is developing an "iffy" reputation.

In years gone by I always asked for genuine, bona-fide, Jaguar-labeled replacement hoses as they were high grade stuff but now it appears that Jaguar has handed the "old car" end of the business to URO....gah!

I'd go with Dayco, Gates, or Goodyear but, truth is, it's all hit-n-miss. We really don't know where the parts come from nowadays.

Cheers
DD

I have heard similar comments about APA/Uro hoses.

I do see silicon cooling hose kits out there for XJS/XKE V12s and even some of the later XJ6 cars. I wonder if any of those hoses cross over to the SIII XJ6 4.2? If so, I could buy individual silicon hoses to make up a kit. Silicon might be overkill for my driving but I think those hoses would way out last any rubber ones.
