Default Dashboard rheostat

1977 XJ6C.
My dash lights are completely dark and the fuse is good. The rheostat has been problematic and I suspect that is the culprit.
‘As the original is NLA, has anyone come up with a substitute?
Thanks

I think you can bypass it, Doug knows how, mine still works fine and I have several spares just in case.

It only had one good spot left in it before I lost my lights.
I’m going to take a chance with a used replacement.
Thanks Jaguar Heaven., I hope.

Mine is bypassed, simply connect the two wires together, lights just at full brightness ( not that it’s very bright)
