Daughter needs a turnsignal switch, '87 XJ6
I, being the loving father that I am, gave my daughter my 87 XJ6 . I bought a nice 1999 XK8 for me, so the other went to her.
Then the turnsignals stopped working. She had a friend come over to have a look, and before I could warn her, they...took apart the switch. Those of you who have done this know...they killed the switch, dead, ka-poot.
SO...she needs a new one. I know where to go and spend $165.00 +/- for one, but I gave her the car, she boobed up the switch, so she needs to replace it. She of course has little money.
Does anyone have a cheap one she could buy?

Well, I didn't give my daughter my 83. And, I didn't get another car. But, all else fits.
In a way, I wish I had. Her 2001 VW Passat four motion wagon pooped out on the freeway. Flat bedded to her house. If it were a Jaguar, I would have an idea as to how to deal with it. But, VW??? The OHC V6 is a far cry from the flat fours I've dealt with, back in the 60's!!!
As to a used or even NOS turn stalk:
1. David Boger at everydayxj. Good guy and lists here. A yard and barn full of Jag stuff.
2. The local wrecker may have an XJ or so.
3. Is it so bad that it can't be pieced back together??
Jag electrics face me again. Driver rear door window closed and will not open. But, I am a master of Jaguar window switches. I have a precise fix protocol. and spares as well!!

First off, I'm not surprised to know you gave the car to your daughter rather than send it down the road with some stranger. You can keep an eye on it this way.
I also applaud you on making her take responsibility for her mistakes. "You broke it, you fix it." She won't learn to be a useful member of society otherwise.
I'm sure this isn't the first such lesson you've taught her and it probably won't be the last. I perceive you're a good father. I know. I had one too.
