Default Dipstick Tube for 4.2 Series 2 XJ

I'm trying to find a replacement dipstick tube for my freshly rebuilt '76 XJ6 motor... engine builder did not reinstall it and it is MIA. Does anyone have one, or know of a source for a new one? SC parts in the UK has them for $80+ shipping, which I find to be a ridiculous price for a little steel tube...

I would sell you mine from my 1987 4.2 for a lot less. Please private message me, so I get a notification. I can take pics of it if you would like to confirm it is what you are looking for. I believe the dipstick tube is good from 69-87 but the dipstick itself may be different for 80-87 ( though this is probably just the way the handle looks on the end).

The catalogs say the tubes are the same, part C17526, for Series II and III cars. I didn't go as far back as Series I cars.

There are different dipsticks, yes, because (at least) a couple different oil sumps were used with different capacities

Cheers

It's C17526 from 69 onwards, Series 1,2 3. There's a seal: C42705 which must be the rubber tube that goes around the dipstick inside the tube.

I also have one that you're welcome to have for marginal fee to cover postage and a six pack
