Default Electric XJ

Morning (evening) all. Saw a great video on utube discussing electric vs petrol (gasoline) cars. I've frightened myself by beginning to think of converting my 85 to electric. I seem to remember that somewhere on this site there was someone doing just this. Anyone recall this and if so can I be pointed in the right direction. Ian

Someone did that in here a while ago, you could probably find in in a Search.
However, I recommend you stop, take 3 deep breaths and really Think about what you're contemplating and why.

If I were thinking about an electric car conversion the first two things I would think about are size and weight.
A Jag is plenty big to hold a lot of batteries thought the battery packs seem to be getting smaller and the engine compartment is plenty big for the motor (or motors).
On the other hand the car seems a little heavy as a starting platform for an EV.
I think just about any car could be converted to EV but I think I would start with a smaller car for the project.
Of course I have not looked at doing anything like this for a lot of years and everything has probably changed since I last looked onto it.
