engine stumble at idle...
Hoping to get some direction here. I've got an '86 XJ6 with ~110K miles, original 4.2L engine. After my car is warmed up, when I come to a stop, and the engine drops down to idle (700~750prm), the engine will start stumbling a pretty good bit (like once a second or so) and acts like it will die. If I slide the tranny into neutral while I wait the revs pick up to 950~1000 rpm and it smoothes out better, but there is still some stumbling, but much less, and it doesn't act like it is about to die. When the car is first cranked and the engine is cold/cool, it doesn't exhibit this behavior.
Any ideas/experiences to point me towards? If you feel sensors could be a problem please let me know how to test (I have a multimeter) if it's possible and you know how.
Thanks,
Eric
