Just my quick impression of a product i bumped into.
I was looking at my tips (nudge nudge wink wink) and wondered what would be best to get rid of the dark brown left over from heat look.
I tried Eagle One but that didn't seem to do much. Great for the Nardi Wheel but not for stainless steel maybe?
Looking through some motorbike threads from the UK some fellas mentioned Autosol. Its a cream made by a German manufacturer i believe. And its for all metal, including chrome. Although I have not tested it on my chrome as of yet and still use Lemon Pledge.
Anyway. Ordered from Amazon as none of the auto stores have it or even knew what it was.
After talking to a guy in the uk he also suggested a method to clean the pipes up.
He suggested tearing a long strip of a cotton t-shirt. Preferably a t-shirt with some give. Then wrap around the pipe and apply some cream to pipe or strip of cotton. As the strip is somewhat wrapped around the pipe you can tug on either end and create a rotation that cleans all around the pipe while spreading the cream.
I have to say it works a treat! Pretty much all gone. I would say 99% clean and with very little effort. I would say make sure you have a decent speed on the pull and pull technique. I will have to give it another once over to get it 100%

I also have used Autosol on Jaguar trim bits for decades. There is nothing better, or even anywhere near as good. It polishes to a mirror shine and does not scratch.
But a WARNING: do NOT use on chrome! Nothing should be used in chrome except a good cleaner wax (if any cleaning is needed) - and if cleaning is not needed, then nothing but a good non-abrasive wax (Mother's Carnauba is an example).

I tend to use the chrome wax on my chrome. Or the Lemon Pledge, which a lot of Harley riders swear by hahaha Big hairy men using pledge.
But yes. I didn't buy the Autosol for chrome but for steel, as my tips are original.
I have used Pledge and other ffurniture polishes since the 1960s to polish my guitars, Never a problem. It also works on the vinyl covering of my guitar amplifier.
