First time in 46 years there is no Jaguar in my garage… I delivered my 1984 XJ6 S3 to a church member Sunday, and he effected the sale Thursday morning. Car was bought by local Construction worker, who’s son works for an auto restoration company.
My wife is doing the Happy Dance, I am just enjoying the recollection of all the years as an Owner, Operator & Maintainer/Modifier of the three Jaguars: 1965 3.8S, 1968 XKE 2+2, and 1984 XJ6 S3.
In addition to my Jaguars, I have enjoyed the forum and the classy members of the forum, from all over the world; their projects, and their advise to me, when I need expert input into Jaguar anomalies.
I am now 80 and the muscles & joints have stopped looking forward to the next Jaguar project. My last big project was getting the brake booster and master cylinder changed; upside down with a mirror and only two hands, it was enough! Thought I was going to have my wife call 911 to get me out of the foot- well… If I even look like I was going to the Garage, my wife asked me what I was doing???
I shouldn’t be too hard on her, she has put up with a lot in 48 years: 3 motorcycles, 3 private airplanes, 3 Jaguars, 3 startup Airlines and 3 wonderful Grandchildren.
Thank you all that have made my time with Jaguars more enjoyable.
God Bless all Jaguar owners.

David, you made it to 80 years, not many of us reach that age.
Maybe you should make yourself available for advising here in this forum and the S type forum.
Curiously, I own a 1984 XJ-6 and a 1965 S type too. Hard to get rid of them.

This isn't the first time I've read in here and other places. about attached Women rejoicing over the sale or other disposal of a Jaguar...Or any other car for that matter.
In David's case I do understand a tiny bit, as Orbits Around the Sun have stacked up taking much of the FUN out of the whole thing, but surly, while a fella is working on a car, IN the garage, spending money on Parts for said car instead of "Other Things," she KNOWS where he is, what he's doing every waking moment. It's no mystery what he's spending that money on, and when he waxes poetic about a beautiful female HE'S TALKING ABOUT A CAR!!
Maybe that's why I don't get on so well with most other women. This Jealousy completely escapes me.

I'm 68 and have recently begun feeling the pain. Gah.
Anyhow, although you're Jaguar-less, I hope you'll still be around on the forum
Cheers

Well done David. Your enthusism and invaluable expertise has been greately appreciated over the years. Please log in now and then, as many of us still rely on your suggestions and vast knowledge base. I agree with Jose for his thoughts on you possibly operating in an advisory capacity here. In fact, perhaps you could lead a "Group of Elders" to help us mere mortals limp along. Personally, I thank you for the many times your advise and guidance has been of such great assistance in my on-going Jag journey. Ian
David - I'm 78yo and dreading the parting of my beloved 1975 XJ6C. She has been a part of my life for the past 23 years. Holy Crap! I just did the math and that's about 30% of my life! Wow! Eye opening! The only other consistent thing in my life has been a wonderful marriage of 56 years which is 72% of my life. Yes, all good things come to an end, but we'll stretch it out as long as we can.
Thanks for ALL your posts, encouragement and comradery through the years.
