I have just had my seats re-upholstered, and should have them back from the trim shop today all being well.
On the front seats, there is a spring about 4 inches long with a sleeve that is something to do with the slider mechanism, but I can't work out where it connects to the seat. There are a pair of lugs in the floor either of which could possibly take one end of the spring, close the the seat mounting points. I can't see where the other end should connect on the seat frame. I presume the spring is to assist with pulling the seat forwards when adjusting the position? There is a hole in the front bar of the seat frame that the spring could connect to, but in this position, it would pull the seat backwards, and
when the seat is fully rearwards the spring bends double!
Can anyone let me know how it should be fixed please?
yep, the sleeve goes a little more forward so the spring does not get tangled with the forward - backward adjuster bar when you raise it to move the seat.
