Default Front Stub Axles

Looking for feedback from anyone who has experience with this front axle reinforcement kit used to correct stub axle wear. I imagine the extra cost would be offset by not having to dismantle the front suspension in order to change the stub axle. Reference screen shot below;

I fitted a set of these from Rob Beere Racing. Same idea. I found that the metal used for them was not hard enough and very soon they begaon to wear and play set in. Their real advantage is that you can tighten up the nut on the stub to a high torque as the conical part (once shimmed correctly) prevents the bearings being jammed too tightly together. Now SNG's version may be made of far harder steel and may not have these difficulties.
Anyway, I took them off. Honestly, regardless of whether they wear in use or not, I think they are a waste of time and effort.

Problem is, can you buy stub axles nowadays ?
Many years ago in the 90s, I replaced them on an XJ6 Series 3 I owned. At that time they were available, but I'm not sure if you can still get them. Clearly they need to be made from the right steel; I'd be suspicious of cheap ones.

They are easily available. For instance:
