Front Window Regulator & Glass Installation
Hello. I have a 1982 Series III XJ6. A while ago, my driver's front window glass motor stopped working at all. After ruling out the window switch and the electricals, I removed the door card, black panel, regulator, and window motor. After using grease and fiddling with the motor, I connected the wiring and the regulator and the motor now works again in both directions. But, I'm having trouble reinstalling everything back into the door. I have reattached the motor to the regulator and have it all inside the door, but I can't figure out how to attach everything and in what order everything goes. Earlier, when disassembling....when I removed the black panel, the regulator assembly just seemed to fall down. I would have expected the window regulator assembly to stay in place when I removed the black panel, but it didn't. Maybe I removed two many screws at once. Also, I haven't been able to get the window connected back to the horizontal channels.
I have the Jaguar manual, a Haynes manual, and have searched this forum and youtube. I have pieces of information, but not enough for me to figure it all out.
Can anyone provide step-by-step instructions on how I can get everything back in order?
