gas pedal hookup
This is a silly question now that I've rebuilt the engine on my 1987 vanden plas (6-cylinder). But I'm stuck on hooking back up the gas pedal to the throttle cable. I've taken pictures of the back of the pedal and am just at a loss. Any help would be Mich appreciated.
My memory is a little foggy, but....
The cable has a little knob on the end.
The pedal has an arm with a slot. The cable goes into the slot and the little knob thingy fits into a recess in the arm. Sorta like a cable handbrake on your bicycle. A collar on the arm is rotated to reveal the slot. There might be a cotter pin in the mix somewhere.
Someone with a better memory will chime in
cheers

Good idea going with the catalog illustration! A picture speaks 1000 words. But the OP should have a Ser III rather than XJ40, so ......
