Default green/red wire to air con?

theres a few wires seem to hug the right hand side of the block up near the head. Red green, (which has insulating cracked and open, a brown and a white which is just hanging there. Now the air con fan does not turn on at the moment it did when I bought the car but has pretty much failed since.

My electical abilities are lousy btw, Those wires I mentioned ot a blurry photo below seem to go round the front of the block and duck over to a relay roughly attached to the compressor.
Would these wires be operational for the air con and fan, and if so would there condition coause it to be innoperative?

The green/brown wire comes from the cabin to turn the a/c compressor on/off. Originally it went to a "thermal limiter fuse"....which on your car seems to have been replaced by a relay.

If the green/brown wire is shorted to ground it would blow a fuse and could make the blower motors inoperative, yes

White/brown goes to the sending unit for the oil pressure gauge

Cheers
