Thanks everyone for the encouragement. You're right, I'll do what needs to be done for a WoF and get her back on the road. I own the cars I do to drive them, not turn them into museum pieces (not that those who do restore to that standard are wrong) so I won't end up with Agatha on a rotisserie with me looking at a bran load of parts to put back together.

Plus the limited budget has to stretch across the other cars, a '76 Spitfire 1500 & a '73 Jensen Healey, plus those annoying other sundries like the house, food, wife, kids etc.

And yep Jose, got the spare out and stuck it on. Was no better. Hope to have a replacement tyre by the end of the week.
