Default Half Lit

As I was coming back last night in the Dark, I only had half my high beams. As in, only on the Right side.
Hmmm........
They worked the last time I was out in the dark, so now what?

As they were Both out on only one side, the fuse was the logical first place to look.
Here's what I found.

Well that was easy, but Why would a 10A fuse just blow like this??
Some fuses in this car were there since it was born.

As husband is a World Class Hoarder, he had a Stash of these fuses in various amperages.

I'll have fuses for quite a while it it's still blowing them, until I discover the problem.

I've always thought chafing/pinching in the bonnet/hinges/springs is a place a wire could get into trouble. Personal experience.

Thank you, Dave,
All the hot wires are well accessible on that side, except of course where they go through the fender to the outer light. At any rate, now that I've had one problem, I'll be on the lookout for the cause.

Oh, now I get it. On seeing g title i was surprised. elinor ibbed a bit too much!!!

Do any of fthe wires involved feel hot to the touch after the lights have been n for a bit? symptoms of a low grade short in my view.

And, yes, the place where the wire goes through the fender is a priome suspect.

further t Mice???

I suspect mice got my house phone land ine!!!!

Thank you, Carl,
That's what I thought, as all the wiring for the hood lights is easily followed.
I'll see if it blows another fuse then I'll know for sure.
