I just finished a "driver restoration" on my 85 XJ6VP!
One last job, I replaced the hazard switch with one from a 1987 XJ6 (which was a pain in the xxxx to do)! Everything is working perfectly EXCEPT the turn signals work with the car off, and the hazards work only when the ignition switch is on!
I have reviewed this old link. I feel there are 2 wires that need to be switched? Can anyone help?
Those old schematics and write-ups were from Charlie Nowlin; very interesting and nice guy. About 25 years ago I reckon
Anyhow, swap the two wires that carry power to the hazard switch. In Charlie's schematics they'd be the green/blue and brown/orange. In the Jaguar schematics the green/blue is shown as green or light green; solid color.
I used the following wiring diagram to realize I had to switch the "green" and "brown/orange" wires. Now, the hazards come on with the ignition off;turn signals with ignition on! It is the best wiring diagram I found! I am attaching pics of the switch with the referenced numbered connectors! Hope this clarifies some confusion!
Thanks Doug (DD) for your help!
