How good is this forum
Hi all,
just how amazingly good is this forum! And that is a rhetorical statement not a question.
A couple of days ago I posted that the starter motor was not cranking on my V12 after conducting work on the fuel rails. I was dreading the prospect of trying to remove the starter motor which is precisely positioned to make the job a nightmare.
Almost straight away an answer came back from Gary Francis telling me exactly where to look (relay against the firewall) and sure enough I had knocked off a connector. So well hidden was the offending wire once it was off that I could have searched the engine bay for an eternity before I found it.
Wire pushed back on to it's spade terminal and instant start. Thank you Gary, thank you forum
Now, if only I could be so fortunate with my troublesome XK8 that has decided to lose it's power steering.
As an aside, whilst the V12 is complex and many aspects are poorly executed it is reasonably easy to understand
regards and thanks

I agree with you Al, I have had my XJ6 for almost 6 years. Between Grant Francis and other members here they guided me through a 3-4 year mechanical restoration while still being able to use the car as a daily driver most of that time.
The info and help from this forum is priceless. As is the banter between members in a lot of the threads.

Without this forum (and the Jag Lovers forum), I wouldn’t want to own my car. The wonderful people on this forum has made owning a Series III a relatively easy experience. Thank you to all who have helped me along the way! :-)
