sounds like you have a XJ-40 (4 liter engine). All XJ sedans are "unoficially" XJ-6 but the right model name is the model year. The XJ-40 arrived in the USA in 1988 though it started in Europe in 1986.

Ha thanks man its an 88 jaguar xj6. It has 3 bolts on the winshield wiper motor I need to find someone that knows if i need to take the plate off to get to the bolts. Really hard to get to man thanks

this section is for the Series 3 XJ-6 up to 1987 and for the 12 cylinder Series 3 XJ-12 up to 1992.

you have a Series 4 XJ.
