I need help . Engine stalls and dies 1986 xj6

No luck.... This morning there was no fuel pressure so i brought it up to 36psi.. It idles at 33psi and stays there.
When i put it in Drive it also stayed at 33psi but as soon as i pressed on the gas it took about 10 seconds to drop to 0 and die.

Another issue with the XJ6, fuel filler caps on top of rear panel. If the car has been sitting outside for a period of time. Water can get into the fuel tanks. I had similar problem where she would start and idle, then die as soon as foot put down. When I drained the tanks, almost 3-4 litres of water seen on bottom of container from each tank, It's not hard to miss as fuel floats on water etc. If there is any water, check the under cap drain hoses which will usually be blocked. These allow water to drain out under the car. Use a long piece of wire or similar, as they are fairly straight, or compressed air. Make sure wire is not sharp, they are plastic hoses and a hole mid way could lead to water or spilt fuel in the boot etc. Cannot offer anything else as the guys have covered the main things, worth checking.

I recently bought a '86 xj6 which caught my eye and fell in love with as soon as I saw it. I thought it'd be easy to work on and get it running since all it needed according to the last owner was a bit of maintenance and a paint job. He lied.
Now a new fuel pump,fuel filter,refurbished airflow meter,new ignition module,new coil, now air filter, new cables and spark plugs,new distributor cap and not much patience left later....it dies when switching from park to drive.
It will start as soon as the key is turned. It stays running at idle unless I press the gas pedal then it dies, same if I put it in drive or reverse.
I don't know what to do next if anyone could please point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful .

Back with good news
Here I am back many months later. Never quiting, ever patiente. Could have been that my problem was a combination of all I did to bring back the car to life.
But the culprit of all trouble turned out to be pounds of rust in the fuel tanks
I had the tanks removed ,cleaned out all rust and recoat with red-kote.
Filled them up with good gas hoping for the best and I felt like the gods had rewarded me for all these months of hard work.
The car now glides thru freeways and has not let me down even once.
Thank you to everyone who helped me thru it you are all amazing people.
Next: preparing for a paint job.
