Default Jaguar XJ coupe

Does anyone know where to get an XJC? I know there were only a few hundred made, but I'd kill for one... well, I'd pay for one. Any ideas where to look?

They come up on Ebay every so often, or try the classified section on the JCNA webpage. They're out there....production was actually about 10,000.A lot of them are pretty rough, though.

Good luck

The XJC is also my dream car. Here's a link for one for sale in Ohio. I do not know the asking price, but I'm quite certain that I cannot afford it right now. It's not exactly "stock", but close enough. Beautiful car to say the least.

I saw a hardtop XJC at the last car show I went to and was completely enamored with it. Couldn't find any looking myself, wishing you good luck in your search

There was one advertised recently in Hemmings motor news. They referred to it as their little race car. If it was prepped for HPDE that would make it even sexier.

There's one on sale a mile off where I live, I see it everyday. It's black and has a V12 but it's been sitting out for a while so I'm not sure if it needs work or what. I'll find the craigslist listing later for you

Hmmm. I am not sure Doug is right on production figures, I thought it was around 5000 in total. Whatever, you really do need to be aware that these are essentially a Series 2 XJ and are very prone to serious rusting, especially in the area below where the rear door would be on a saloon. Jaguar never resolved the rear window drainage, which on the saloon, is of course, restricted to the door drains. On the Coupe this is problematical and prone to blockage, and subsequent devastation.

So tread warily when considering and looking at a potential purchase !!

Per Paul Skilleter's book "The XJ-Series Jaguars":
XJ6C - 2,606 RHD and 3,899 LHD
XJ12C - 604 RHD and 1,269 LHD
Hence total production of 8,378.

An XJ12C would be nice to own but it would be better to have two. One as a garage queen and the second completely modified for modern performance, safety and comfort.
