No. That stuff is in the right Rear wheel well.
The charcoal canister is in the right Front wheel well:

And here is where they protrude the fender to the engine compartment:

By the looks of those pre pump socks, I'd have to pull both those tanks out for a serious cleaning. Flashlight through the holes, look well at the bottom for a thick layer of sludge, sides and up top for rust. I would fill completely with rust remover for 24hrs or so.

Default Gasoline smell GONE

This "fuel line" comes back (retour) from the vaporator inside the C-Style.

I took apart the back seat and everything to find the fuel lines under the back window. The vaporator retour Line ends up in the trunk? I assume that normally these ones are guided out of the car??? Can anyone make a photo of their trunk? To show me where the line should go?

So the photo above was clearly my problem, did a bit of testing and smell in different places, and this hose smelled awefull. It's the return of the vaporator.

Connected it to the wheel arches? (Is that correct English?) And now the smell is gone.

SOLVED.

Hi.
I read your article and I have a question.
My vehicle is xj Series2 5.3.
When I open the window while driving, I smell fuel. It seems it is a same symptom with your car.
Especially when I open the trunk, inside the circle marked area smells a lot. (a photo attached)
I've replaced hoses, connections, fuel tanks, and regulators with new products to solve this problem. (photos attached)
but It didn't work.

And this is the connection of my car's charcoal canister. (a photo attached) I don't know if the charcoal canister is connected properly. I think the wrong connection might be the cause of this problem.
If you've solved the fuel smell problem, please advise me what I'm missing.
