Hey everybody! Just a few months ago I was looking on how to install a stake down kit for my 1984 Jaguar XJ6. I wasn’t able to find much and figured I’d give it a shot and record a video along the way.

yes it is always done without removing the engine.

 

Haven’t seen a video of someone doing it with the engine in, but yes I’m sure many know that it’s possible.

 

the tappets' stay down brackets are normally installed on the exhaust side of the cylinder head. All that is needed is to remove the exhaust side cam / valve cover, not the engine. Mine was done that way.
