Well, it appears my injectors are waaay too big, all spark plugs jet black and stopped firing.. except two that had bad injectors anyway!! I have ordered a set of 24 lb ones to get me running again.
Another week of waiting.... and now to add insult to injury, my steering rack has decided that nows a good time to develop a massive leak....
onward and upward!!

Good job, Darren!
My steering rack leaked like the Amoco Cadiz when I got the car. PO swore it never leaked a drop all the time he drove it, but that was before he let it sit for 10 years and then decided to sell it. Therefore, I'm Convinced racks don't like long periods inactivity any more than the rest of the car does.

So you can use that week you're waiting for injectors to fix the rack.
It's all good!
You couldn't drive the car anyway!
(I have so many good ideas early in the morning )

It seems keep chasing issues of my own creation.. latest one ( although sorted) had me stumped.
new injectors showed up late Wednesday, so of course i stayed up late installing them.. got it all buckled up and go to start it... just get woogas.. you know, when car just goes wooga wooga wooga wooga buy wont start..
spent last night following trouble shooting diagrams from camaro fsm and am passing all tests again!!! But still wont start.... heres a tip boys and girls, dont use the probes on a multimeter to test connector, if you must, back probe them, apparently all my testing spread open the connections and they weren't making contact!!!.. took me a while to figure that one out.. as soon as i did she fired right to life and sounds great now! Well loud and angry, but still great, no more missing... of course my rack seal kit showed up today, so maybe I will get some time over the weekend to work a little, i think wife is starting to miss me a little.. lol, wont push my luck though, i will ask, and watch face , not just listen to her answer.. sometime, go ahead, means if you value being married I wouldn't! Lol
seriously though, my wife has been more overly tolerant of this swap, so maybe i just leave garage closed for the weekend..
anyways... everyone have a great weekend!!!

Aye, happy wife = happy life. I sure do miss mine!!!

Do something together, an activity that she likes.

When I wandered around in my former profession , I had several places spotted to pick up stuff for her. A special won ton soup Fresh strawberries from the field. Flowers. Take out Chinese dinner.

I think we've all been there and done that. Created problems in the process of trying to solve problems.

so maybe i just leave garage closed for the weekend..

Speaking for myself, but perhaps others, I dunno.....

Taking some time off from a project is often a good idea.

And, for me, especially as I get older, I find that staying up late to work on something that requires care and brainpower often has a bad result. I find myself making mistakes. I'll call it a night....or find something that'll move the project forward but isn't technical at all. Like cleaning parts for the next day or some such.

Cheers
DD

I met with Darren today and bought his 4.2 and BW66. Great guy, even threw a brand new radiator. He removed the tranny for me.

His Camaro conversion looks and sounds awesome.

the 4.2 is going into my 1965 S type, talk about lump. That engine is a monster in length and height.

his car has a terrific corduroy covering on the seats which look factory. It is way too perfect to have been a recover. May be ftom a Canadian car.

I'm tired of leather. Darren won't sell me his seats.

Thinking is not at best when one is tired. The walk away works. An issue that seemed huge at night became manageable in the morning.

Ae, Mindless tasks can fill the breach. Clean up the work site. clean tools and orderly part arrangement is good. Gives for a nice fresh start at the next session..

Over deacade ago a fellow lumper and I were stumped astot eh coil and it's module location on the left front of our LT1's.

A fresh look at the documets we shared indicated what we believed was one way. No luck. I talke credit for noting that the picture was upside down!! Flip the gadget and it fit and the connectors oriented!!

Aye, Darren, I've not opend a connector at the PCM for a speedo wire. Fear of getting into the pickle you just got into and fortunately out of..

Loud and angry. As angry. as good LT1 should. You can tame it!!

Well, wife and daughter wentnona college tour this morning and then to a 4 year olds burthday party, so i was left to my own devices.... where did i end up?? In the garage, did a lap of the block with no exhaust, was easier than trying to just turm car around as belt is back off due to the power steering rack actually shoots fluid out of the base of the tower.. i got to somewhar clean my garage, and got to meet Jose! Well i hope it was him, !! Lol. Great guy!

Somewhwew I read that corduroy seats and no sun roof or some combination was a ULK standard issue and that the USa/Canada cars all were some mix of vinyl and leather.

Dr. Gregory can probably clarify.

Although a past jag owner and DD pal had a car with cloth seats. done by a local upholsterer.

Don't sell the trim shops short, they can ond often do better work than the factory...
