I have an 1981 XJ6 and want to know what is the best manuals. Is a parts illustration Manuel that show where the parts are and how they are connected?

Yes, the illustrations in the parts catalog are very useful for disassembly/reassembly.

You'll also want the ROM-"Repair Operations Manual" and the S57 Wiring Guide
