MK1 XJ6 heading to the scrapper
Any chrome parts in good condition should be removed. Screen chromes included. Front fenders if straight. If 2" SU carbs fitted then remove these. If the twin fuel caps and surrounding area rust free - cut them out. Wood caps for doors may be worth keeping to sell.
It is interesting to note that what many believe are parts worth keeping from an XJ6 Jag end up very difficult to sell. I'm speaking of front and rear suspension units, maybe sought after by the hot rod builders. My parts supplier told me he sent half a dozen of these to the metal scrapyard recently as they were just clogging up his shop. He also had a large pile of series 1 instrument clusters - no takers. Items like these seems to survive on XJ6 cars so no demand for them. On the other hand, the twin fuel cap wells do not survive well (rust), and are popular with custom car builders. Any other suggestions on what is worth keeping from a scrapped XJ?
no sorry
