Default Need advice on overdrive.

I took apart and reassembled this unit because it was leaking a lot of oil.

Washed and cleaned everything inside.
Reassembled with new gaskets.
Installed on the box.
Shafts rotate freely and easily.
Fully filled with oil.
I decided to check the work with an electric drill.
When rotating, the first few seconds the engagement lever is pressed lightly and the overdrive is activated.
But then there is some kind of back pressure and the lever becomes tight and the solenoid cannot move it.
It’s hard to turn the lever even by the finger, but if move it, the OD turns on.
What can there inside do this back

pressure on the lever?

I really look forward to advice.
Tanks.
Nikolay

I wrote to them. While I'm waiting for an answer, I'll check my assembly again.
Thank you.

Solved!
I could not imagine that the stroke of the lever is so small. 0.08" --0.12"
It wasn't exactly intuitive.
I thought that the lever travel should go the full way. From end to end. But this is wrong.
Richard from ODS helped me a lot.

I now have my overdrive unit on the bench. It sure has led a hard life with many of the outside parts damaged in a previous repair.
The mounting nut for the gearbox also has been welded,
Q. Is this standard or was the mounting cast integral with the casing originally?

I have never seen an output flange welded to the nut like that. I'm pretty sure that should not be the case, after all how could you change the output shaft seal now?

Looks like a major bodge job. Perhaps someone stripped the threads on the nut and welded it instead of getting a new nut? I hate to say it, but I think your output shaft is scrap now.

Not sure if you have interpreted the photo correctly. The output flange is not welded, It is only the gearbox support bolt "nut" that is welded to the o/d casing.
My question whether this is standard, or was this cast integral with the case and perhaps in my unit has cracked and been re-welded on.
