Need help for a friend.
My friend has a 1987 xj6 and he was changing the valve cover gaskets. He touched the 12vdc starter relay located on the fire wall.
Now his car will not start. I checked all the fuses and check for spark on the spark plugs. There is an inline fuse on the circuit he grounded and the fuse did not blow. The engine turns over and you smell fuel. The funny thing is when I trip the fuel trip switch on the passenger door. The engine will start and run on the flooded fuel left in the cylinder. I'm gong for the ECU being damage but maybe the air flow might be the problem. I don't know much about these cars so I need expert advice.
Thanks
