Default Need a Mechanic Recommendation in the DFW Area

Need a recommendation on a Jaguar mechanic in the Dallas, Texas area for my cousin.

He inherited from an uncle a '86 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas that has been off the road for a few years and needs to get it sorted. Obviously, he doesn't want to get his head ripped off, but would prefer someone who knows the cars and what they are doing.

Any suggestions or recommendations are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This might be a place to get work done or perhaps a recomendation for a mechanic.

Johnscars on Jaguar lane. either Fort worth or Dallas.

Their main business is selling conversion kits for installing GM V8 engines in various Jaguars. At one time, they did conversions and fixes of conversions gone bad. I'm not sure if they do that any more.

They do offer an extensive inventory of Jaguar parts.

Good folks.

How did the search work out for you and the cousin? There are several Jag specialist in DFW. I've known Byron Carlson at Sports Car Warehouse in Arlington since it opened. They are competent in all classic British makes. Can't even count how many cars my family has done business with him. Extensive used and NOS selection. But...small staff, that's good and bad. Lot's of knowledge and camaraderie but rush jobs are tough. Let us hear how it works out for you.

Interesting! I knew that john did conversions in shop at one time, but that his business was almost all part sale nowadays. so, he des regular Jag work, as wellas conversions, huh.

Great, I'd trust him.
