i recently bought an 85 xj6 for 400$ but it has a bad fuel pump and a flat. the solonoid clicks but no response from my test pump. my new pump should be here today but i also believe i have no voltage to the pump.
any ideas?
also i am a big time hot rodder and was looking for headers and other aftermarket goodies for this engine do they exist? if not i will simply make them. but an answer would eliminate hours of searching.

 

Cool, another hotrodder! Since you mentioned it, you now must provide pix of your rod for me to oogle at.

I assume you've checked for juice to the pump? Mainly, electrical issues are related to dirty contacts and blown fuses.

Haven't found any headers yet...don't know if they'd gain you a lot anyway. Most hp improvements come from porting and polishing the intake side, but that is mainly for the carbuerated SI and SII. Your SIII is about as good as it's gonna get. If you want headers, you're probably best off making them. If you really want big hp lump it with a SBC, SBF or BB.

She has some rust but she runs now but im outta gas and wont have a tire till teusday. The best hot rods ive had my fingers in were on someone elses dollae but i have this and a 32 frame asking to be built.
