Talking new guy on the block

hi ladies and gents
I have just signed up to the site and have been having a look around
one thing I did find was a list of do's and don'ts so I thought I should start with a few of the do's
I have been around Jags as long as i can remember as my father has always had at least one at all times in different states of repair which has instilled a love for them in myself as well
I am at the moment in the throws of doing a ground up rebuild on a 1983 XJ6 series 3 and intend on do as much of it as I can myself one because I love to be hands on and two i don't like parting with my money hahaha
with the build i am doing I know that some people will not like it as there will an LS1 V8 in the engine bay along with a few other mods along the way (but not to much)

there are many XJ owners here with V8 conversions so don't let that bother you.

these cars lend themselves to engine conversions because they have huge engine compartments.

Absolutely, the other Jaguar site gets all riled up over conversions but not here. We have several active members that have actually done the conversion, lots that have conversions done by a previous owner, and a couple bona fide conversion experts. All are welcomed.

Hello, Simon,
Some people are a bit funny about that Everywhere!
When people see Nix in a parking lot, there are 2 camps of initial admirers:
Those who say, "Have you got a Chevy in it? with delighted glee at that prospect, and then they want to see it.
And those who say,"Oh. You put a Chevy in it. and back away like the car has leprosy.

This place is inhabited by broad-minded, realistic Drivers, some of whom drive the XK engines, but All of whom respect the personal choices of others.

Welcome to our playroom from ElinorB.

Simon, there are plenty of conversions here in OZ and there will always be the knockers. Just do what you want with your car and I’m sure it will be a beauty. When time permits go to the new members section and place an intro where you’ll receive a warm welcome......good luck.
