Quick question. I got my injectors for a project on my 86 XJ6 where I am upgrading to a modern fuel and ignition system. I cleaned out the holes in the intake… But to me, these hard plastic disks on the injector tip in front of the O ring need to come off. With them, the injector does not seat well. But if removed, the injector tip seems like it will go in the small hole and rubber O-ring will seal in outer larger diameter.
Simple question but injectors did not come with any instructions. Every picture I see on Google shows this hard plastic ring in front of o- ring...but I think it is because they are just taking pix of new items and seems this plastic ring just is there to hold on o-ring for shipping?

Great picture Doug. The line drawings are a bit misleading compared to what the parts actually look like.
I have this question posed to Pete who actually implemented this new fuel rail/injector design...so I am nowhere near putting mine in place but just curious. I like to know how things work! 😁
