Question New plugs and coil

This has probably been asked before, but my searches have not found the answers.
I plan to change my coil and plugs this weekend. Can someone advise me on a readily available spark plug and coil (I have a Napa here in Niagara).
The car is a 1985 S3 XJ6.
Thanks, Ian

Champion RN12YC always worked well for me.

I used only Lucas coils so I don't know what other suppliers offer. Any 12v coil with about 1.0 ohm resistance should be OK

Cheers

Thanks so much Doug. Do you have a P/N ref. for the Lucas coil?

Lucas DLB198 is correct and should work well for you. I ran one for years on my Series III with no problems.

Long story, but years ago I discovered (quite by accident) that a Lucas DLB170 (a V12 application) also works well on a Series III 4.2

I should add that "Lucas" automotive parts might be anything nowadays. Lucas sold-off its automotive segment to another company back in the late 90s. I'm fairly sure that any Lucas-branded part you buy now has just been label-engineered. I don't think the new company actually manufactures anything. Might be wrong.

If your local parts store can cross-reference Jaguar part number DAC3001 you should be OK. The original 3001 coils were actually made by Ducellier. Good stuff.

Cheers
