Just bought a nice 1970 xj6 s1 in Australia (rh drive) and wanting to improve comfort and safety. Hope you can help with my initial 3 questions or point me to relevant posts:
1. How can I upgrade my wing mirrors, as I only have a little one on drivers side which is not good enough.
2. How can I electrify my passengers front window?
3. Is there any posts on how to retrofit an airconditioner into a series 1 dash?
Rex

Welcome indeed. good guys and gals here to afford a lot of help!!
Folks in yur part of the world as well!!!

1. The window issue might be the easiest. It is powered by volts!! usual issue is the switch. Remove and clean. Search the archives. I ands others have posted on that issue there.

2. Passenger side mirror. Easy method. Attach a manual mirror. More complex. Install the drives from an SIII car.

3. AC!! Installation of a Delanair unit from a later car. A formidable task.

Under the dash after market. Aye but hoses and compressor drive plus the dryer and evap unit!!1 Less formidable but surely not easy.

My lumped SIII has no activated AC. I manage. Early AM use in summer. O'wise, the old 94 Jeep. Used it Friday. summer is here, We jumped past spring!

Looking forward to your posts and pictures your new toy!!

I just might be able to claim "fame" as the oldest guy here!!

Since the car is not in the US it might have crank-up windows.

My suggestion would be to find someone over there that deals in used parts. Here in the states we have David at everydayxj.com He does ship overseas so you might contact him to see if he has what you need and how much shipping is. That is for the window risers and mirrors.

Air conditioning is a huge project. There is not much space behind the dash panel. I suggest looking at Vintage Air as they have compact units with new components that are proven and provide good performance.

Don't forget to post some photos of your car. We all love seeing folks new projects

Jeff

But I don't have even that. Nothing.
Your photos show the mark iv fitted in the dash neatly. Was it hard to get in and out?
I might need some help to not get ripped off by jag ac specialists.

Thanks for the link you gave to retrospares, i wonder if that unit is for a eries 1 dash and if it includes all the compressors etc. or just the dash unit?

i will call JagDam as suggested to get some help.
Very easy to remove and re install. A hunt around jag specialists might uncover one from a wrecked car. A fairly cheap rebuild if you can get hold of the system.
Brysons in Sydney & Melbourne fitted quite to few to new S1,s as dealer options.

Try Jagdaim. and these others.
