Default Nice V8 Jag my bro found

My brother sent me the link to this: (Not my car, just thought some might find it interesting)

http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/cto/2186910213.html

Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas with Lingenfelter TPI V8/Jasper Racing 700R4 - $17500 (Frisco, Texas)

It is doubtful that Sir William Lyons "Jaguar's Patriarch" ever envisioned a fire breathing V8 under the hood of his "Motor Car" but he just didn't grasp American ingenuity. This is a one-of-a-kind automobile that was hand built for a well-to-do customer that took over 3 years to complete. The car was built by David Taylor "Jaguar Mechanic" and has traveled only 3k plus miles. The balanced and blueprinted 350 V8 with TPI fuel injection, polished billet aluminum accessories and serpentine belt system was furnished by John Lingenfelter whose company is known as one of the best engine builders in the country. Jasper Racing furnished the heavy duty 700R4 overdrive transmission. It has a rebuilt rear differential loaded with 3:54 rear gearing with posi-traction. The car is very fast indeed! The suspension was overhauled, new large bore headers and aluminized exhaust installed. It has new seals, leather, headliner, carpets, am/fm/cd radio, and paint. It has just received a new billet fuel pump, Optima battery, R134 Air-Conditioning conversion with a new drier and condenser, and four brand new Kumho Solus tires. It has an original hand-made steering wheel made by E. Nardi that was bought from a gentleman living in Genoa, Italy. $43,000 was invested in building this car with $18,500 in the motor and transmission alone. This is arguably one of the most elegant and beautiful Jaguar Saloons ever, but this Cat has the Heart of a Lion. One thing is reasonably certain - the owner will find the replacement engine a lot more reliable than the 4.2 litre 6 I assume it replaced. I know this is true as I had the 6 !!

The only thing that looks appealing is the 3:54 rear. Sell the engine and get a nice 12 to slide in there.

Never had a single issue with the 4.2 six in our old S3...

Gee, I dunno. Looks like a very nice Jag to me. The pics ain't so great but it looks like a nicely engineered conversion. Not a hatchet job.

I have mixed feelings about V8 conversions but the extra power must be nice. :-)

Cheers
