Nix Doesn't Like Rain!
Last fall, about October, I made the foolish statement that I didn't believe all the hype about El Niņo coming ashore. Well, for the past 3 days we have had wave after wave of this:
That Huge orange/yellow blob has moved around here and there, coming and going, but mostly staying somewhere in that circle.
It's a warm system, no snow, so it's only filling the lakes and streams, but every low spot is full of water, the Sacramento river is at 207 feet elevation at the Tehama Bridge, flood stage is 213 feet (we're a safe distance away, our front gate is 214 feet) and Nix is getting So restless!
They're saying this will carry on for the rest of the week, maybe with a few breaks.
Cats don't like rain.

We getting similar here.
We are in the first month of Autumn, and last night we got belted, 36c, storms, and then 22mm of rain in 1 hour, then short bursts of rain all night.
Today, 34c, humidity at about 85%, and this is for the rest of week also.
Wednesday looks like a savage one according to the forecast just now.
No flooding as yet, but storm watch is active and flash flooding alert.

I worked for Seconds to find that image online! (teehee) I'm glad you like it.
Yes, that's the capriciousness of California weather. None of the burn scars are visible now, all sprouting new green grass; Except, of course, where early rain turned burned hillsides into chocolate pudding, which then slid to the bottom of the valley.
I Guess!! Meager doesn't even begin to cover it! More like parsimonious!
22ml isn't even a full shot!

LnrB, It was only in November that you were describing the wild fires, dust storms and drought in California, surely the rain is needed?
