94 xj6 jagaur

Welcome to the forum.
If you do indeed have a 1994 XJ6, then that is known as an XJ40 in Jaguar talk.
I also believe the USA market only got the 4ltr engines?? in the 6 cyl version, and that engine was coupled to an electronic transmission (ZF 4HP24), and no kickdown cable being used.
Other markets, like mine, also got the 3.2 ltr engine, and that engine had a none electronic transmission (ZF4HP22), and thus had a kickdown cable.
A quickie repost in the XJ40 section after establishing the engine size will get the answers you need.
