is it ok to mix trans fluids?
I need more trans fluid but im having a problem. When I got it serviced the mechanic thought it'll be a good idea to use the most expensive stuff possible just to charge me more, it currently has Penrite 33 transmission fluid in it, But I cant seem to find anyone that sells that and seen im 3 hours from home and don't have time to wait for some to order as I need to head home asap.
I only trans fluid I can find is Valvoline type f fluid.
Is it ok to add the Valvoline type f fluid in with the penrite 33 which is currently in my trans? at the shop they said it might not mix and end up turning into a gluey mixture and ruin my trans.

I am going out on a limb and assuming a BW65/66 trans??.
Agreed, that Penrite is a bit of overkill, and Type F will mix with NO ill effects.
Being an older style automatic with no electronic controls/solenoids, nothing special is needed in it.
