19 at the time of purchasing my 1987 XJ6, I'm 20 now however, and other than the issues caused by the ham fisted previous owner, I am tickled pink with my Jaguar experience.

I'm 68, got my first Jag last year. Always loved the XJS and wanted another convertible before I go to the big car lot in the sky. Previous convertibles were Triumphs.

Just turn 42, wife says i should apply for my pension when she saw me drive home in the Jag., until we went for a spirited drive. Now she is loves it.

My first Jaguar, purchased just 1 1/2 months ago. Have rally been keen on the series III forever and plan to add one to the stable when I can find a great one for sale.

I'm 72 years young and wondering where the time went! Bunch of TR's and MG's up until I bought a 90 XJ6 at 47yo. Then a bunch of Mercedes until I was 52 when I bought my current 1975 XJ6C. They will bury me in it!

I am 66 this week,
always wanted a Jag for the last 25 years and everyone told me your nuts as they are not reliable.
I have had my xj6 series 3 for 6 months and have had it towed home twice, but I will tell you its a pleasure to drive when its going.
I would not swap it for the world.

The first 3 years I had Nix I used up my Premium AAA towing allowance every year.

I suppose you could call it a Rolling Resto for lack of a better description, as I was working on the Criminal Neglect and Deferred Maintenance while driving her, and whenever she got a ride on a flat bed I fixed that particular item just to get her on the road again -- until the next item quit.

When the first full year passed without need for towing we had a celebration! That was 2017 and she hasn't been on a flat bed since or even threatened such.

You'll get there too. Just keep at it.

I'm 74 and have owned my one and only Jaguar since 11/2018. I have never ridden in it, have never driven it, and have only sat in the drivers seat (normally) once or twice. I was looking for a project car when this one posted on Craigs List. I had never seen one in real life and thought this could be a very nice looking car if I can finish it. $800 later, plus the hauling fees, I had a 1985 XJ6, original engine/trans (out of car), a used Chevy LT1/trans, a nice cover, and some conversion parts sitting in front of my garage. I envisioned it as a winter project. More than 2 1/2 years later, I'm very close to hearing it run.

It has been a daily labor, sometimes of love, sometimes not so much. I have become a local expert on Jaguars, my wife has conceded any claims in that area. I only know of one other S3 in my area and he hasn't driven his for maybe 4 years. No one has a lump.

I am 79
I bought my first Jag which was a MK7 when I was 21. It was pretty clapped but a new set of rings, big ends and clutch, all done by myself, kept it going for 6 years. I sold it and acquired another very low mileage MK7 off a sheep station (ranch) in south west Queensland.
Have had Jags ever since except for a relapse from 1979 to 1983
I have had my current 1980 S3 XJ6 for 30 years. Over that time it had a complete bare metal repaint, complete engine rebuild. When I bought it via a repossession auction the cylinder head was in the boot or trunk (depending you live). The primary cam chain had jumped, the hydraulic tensioner was in the sump and all of the inlet valves were bent.
Also currently have a MK1, MK2 and 2 X300s.
Previous Jags include MK5, 2 MK7s, MK8, 420G, 4 MK1s, 4 MK2s, S2 XJ6, S2XJ12, XJ40, X308.
Every one of these Jags were "distressed" vehicles either non running, had major faults such as no brakes or were in bits needing reassembly. It seems a lot but spread over 58 years it only averages about one every 21/2 years.
It has been an interesting "hobby"although my wife calls it an obsession. It doesn't quite keep me out of the pub!
Cheers
Bill Mac
