I'm 44 and probably should know better!
Actually learned the finer points of driving and got my license in my mothers 1983 Sovereign back in 1989 when I was 18.
Purchased my very own Jag in 1993, being a gorgeous white 1985 XJS V12 and ran her for 10 years until a move of house meant no off street parking and I didn't want to trash her perfect coachwork - still had unmarked factory clearcote.
Always been interested in and surrounded by cars and have longed for a Series III for ages.
Even bought a 1968 MK 2 (340 badge) ten years ago, which I still have and enjoy.
Was looking for a Series III four years ago when I needed a 'new' company car, but nothing of note presented itself when I needed it to.
So now I feel I have gone full circle, as in March this year the stars aligned and I purchased my 1985 Vanden Plas, which I am now very happily using as my every day company car.
A lotto win would mean an XJ220, but even so, I am pretty happy with my Jaguar journey so far
Cheers and happy Jaguar motoring to all

I'm 41 and got my first Jag 3 years ago. My old man had a few and I guess his taste runs in my veins. Just love the Series 1 (dad had one too), but still have an XJ-C itch to scratch!
I'm not a purist and if Jaguar had been in better financial shape in the late '60s and '70s they would have replaced the XK Engine for the S1 XJ. That said, the XK has bags of character and that counts for a lot! Now wheres that AJ6?....

saw a surprisingly clean and driveable champagne series III xj6 for $1600 and that was my first car at 17. sold it and combined it with money saved during school to get an 84 Mercedes 500SL which was one month later rear-ended by runaway drunk driver. sold the remains to a restorer for just enough to get a Kelly Green XJ6 Series III which I drove for two years. Sold that green xj6 for a profit to someone who saw it driving around town and wanted to buy it for their family member and with the money received, went out and bought the red series III xj6 I now have at age 25. don't plan on leaving anytime soon!

OOOOOH, Took the poll. I am the only one in the next to the last classification!!!
At times, I feel like I belong in the last one.
My first car, not a Jaguar, was in about 1946, a 23 T roadster pickup that did not run. I made it run, to the surprise of my parents. they allowed me to buy it feeling safe.
Many cars later, came the one and only Jaguar so far. 2001, my 83 XJ6. Trouble free!!! Hardly. Would have sent a lesser car packing. it does have emotional ties though.
Errands in a bit. Jaguar up.

seems i'm in JagCad group, he aint sayin his age, i'm 81, be 82 in may 2016!
seems a lot of this car stuff started in California USA(modified cars), not restored types.
my 1st one was 1949 TAH DAH,(what else) but a 1934 Ford roadster V8, 1st thing was to take off the front mudguards and running boards, then a twin 2 barrel manifold, along came dual exhuats!
much to my surprise the damn thing was fast, and i was young and dumb and full of ***, had no license so they couldnt take it away! did i mention it cost $18.dollars(not counting mods).
since then owned at least 100 cars. some today in good condition would be over a million dollars.
and today my garage queen is a much modded 78 XJS V12 roadster!
